The problem we encountered
Visitors often explain their app, tools or workload early in a conversation. An assistant that asks for those details again makes the exchange feel like a form that has forgotten the previous answer. In our own website assistant, short conversation history also made later corrections harder to use consistently.
What we changed
We introduced bounded context for the current page session: the app or project, priorities, platforms, tools, workload and approval preference. A correction replaces the earlier value. A clear service switch resets unrelated discovery. The assistant can use the retained brief to ask for the next missing detail, while the recent replies help it avoid repeating a pitch.
Keeping recommendations grounded
Commercial facts remain controlled by the website’s approved service information. The language model helps with conversation routing and short contextual replies; it does not invent prices, cancellation terms or delivery promises. The handoff can prepare a summary, but the visitor still chooses whether to submit an enquiry and gives reply consent.
Observed verification
The release record reports 116 service and enquiry regression checks. Live checks included changing a workload from fifteen fixes to five and retaining the original workload across a longer conversation. The context release was verified live on 7 November 2026. These are software checks and observed interactions, not evidence of increased sales or visitor satisfaction.
Data lifetime and the next lesson
The added context stays within the page session and is discarded by clear-chat or leaving the page. It does not create a new conversation database. The practical lesson is to remember only what the next decision needs, validate it on the server and make corrections effective. A similar project should test long conversations and service switches, not just a single successful answer.
