Midnight Mums Club is a wellness and community platform built by mothers, for mothers. It provides daily wellness tracking, guided meditation, calming affirmations, child development tracking, vaccination reminders, and community forums — all in one beautifully designed app that supports mums through every stage of motherhood.
Becoming a mother is transformative, but for many women it is also deeply isolating. The early months of motherhood — especially those long, lonely hours of night feeds — can feel overwhelming. New mothers experience a whirlwind of physical recovery, hormonal changes, sleep deprivation, and emotional upheaval, often with little structured support beyond a six-week postnatal check-up. The founders of Midnight Mums Club, mothers themselves, searched for an app that combined wellness tracking, mental health support, child development monitoring, and genuine community connection in one place — and found nothing that fit. Existing parenting apps were either overly clinical, presenting motherhood as a series of medical milestones stripped of emotional reality, or they were shallow social platforms riddled with unsolicited advice and judgmental comment sections. None prioritised maternal mental health. None offered a private, safe space where a mother could honestly say she was struggling without fear of being judged. And critically, none were designed for the reality of using an app one-handed at 3 AM while feeding a baby in the dark.
We built Midnight Mums Club as a native iOS app with a gentle, calming user interface designed specifically for use during those quiet, late-night hours. The colour palette uses soft purples and warm neutrals. Text is large and readable in low light. Every interaction can be completed one-handed. The entire experience feels like a warm hug rather than a clinical tool. The daily wellness check-in is the app's heartbeat. Each morning (or whenever mum is ready), a gentle prompt asks about mood, sleep quality, energy levels, and how she is feeling emotionally — using friendly language and visual scales rather than clinical questionnaires. Over time, these check-ins build a personal wellness timeline that helps mothers recognise patterns, identify triggers, and share meaningful summaries with their GP or health visitor if they choose to. Guided meditation and affirmation sessions were developed in collaboration with postnatal mental health specialists. The library includes sessions for specific moments: calming anxiety during night feeds, building confidence before returning to work, processing birth trauma, and managing the guilt that so many mothers carry silently. Audio sessions range from two-minute breathing exercises to twenty-minute guided meditations, all playable with the screen locked. Child profile management lets mothers track developmental milestones, log feeding and sleep patterns, and receive vaccination reminders aligned with the NHS immunisation schedule. The app sends gentle, timely notifications so no appointment is missed. The community forums are the soul of the app. Moderated by trained volunteers and structured into topic-based groups — sleep, feeding, returning to work, relationships, mental health — they provide a judgment-free space where mothers support each other through every stage. Privacy is paramount: personal data never appears in forums, and all posts can be made anonymously. We implemented a freemium subscription model through RevenueCat, with core wellness features free and premium content (specialist-led sessions, extended meditation library, detailed developmental tracking) available through a monthly subscription.
