AllSorted: a home services marketplace

Customer and professional app journeys for home services, with Cardiff launch preparation clearly distinguished from marketplace availability.

The marketplace problem

Home services involve two different decisions. A customer needs to explain a job and compare suitable responses. A professional needs enough detail to decide whether to respond. AllSorted brings those journeys into a product with separate customer and professional experiences. Afiniti Global built and maintains the apps.

What can be verified publicly

The customer App Store listing provides public evidence of the app. Published screenshots show category, urgency and budget choices during a request. The official website explains the customer journey and professional onboarding. It currently describes preparation for a Cardiff launch in cleaning, non-gas plumbing and electrical work. A store listing is not proof that every trade or location has available providers.

Availability is part of the experience

The important product lesson is to make supply and launch status visible before a customer expects a response. For a similar marketplace, we would agree how coverage, job scope and professional eligibility appear in the request flow. Optional identity checks and trade qualifications should be explained separately. These are planning principles; they do not establish that every listed professional has a particular qualification.

Status and outcome boundaries

This is a real app project with publicly available product material. We do not describe it as a nationwide, fully supplied marketplace or claim a number of completed jobs. The official website’s launch information is the appropriate source for availability. No booking-volume, provider-income or matching-speed result is published in this case study.

Planning a similar marketplace

Choose one launch area and a limited service scope. Define what a useful job request contains, who can respond and what happens when no suitable professional is available. Review both sides of the exchange before expanding geography. A credible first release needs an operational plan for supply, enquiries and exceptions alongside the app itself.
